Mark and Katie’s Wedding

My dad came along to help me shoot Mark and Katie’s wedding.  Its really nice having a second shooter and at some point, I want to only offer two photographers for all of my weddings.  Mark and Katie were so much fun to work with!  I can definitely see them being close friends of mine.  Take a look back at their engagement shoot here.
Katie happy with how her hair turned out:

I don’t know why but I love pictures of girls putting in earrings.

This is one of the many shots from my dad’s rapid fire sequence as they were coming out of the church. I love how they used bird seed instead of bubbles…though it a bit messy.

This is my favorite shot my dad took. Katie looks so adorable!

Clarity MD

Clarity MD is a medical spa located in Carmel, IN.  They had just set up their new office and wanted to get some professional pictures for their website.  The staff was so upbeat and fun to work with.  Check out their website here for more information about the services they offer.

John and Tara’s Wedding

John and Tara were married in Columbus, IN. They were childhood sweethearts and there was a lot of talk about how they were always meant to be together. John absolutely adores Tara and their wedding was sweet and full of love and support from their families and friends. Its obvious that they will spend a long happy life together!

One of my favorite parts of a wedding is taking the bridal party outdoors for some fun pictures:

1 year anniversary!

This month (July) marks Silverleaf Photography’s 1 year anniversary.  When I went into college 7 years ago I thought I could either be a teacher or a photographer.  When I couldn’t decide which one I wanted to do more, I did both.  I majored in education and was the photography coordinator of my dorm for two years.  (Ran the darkroom and sat on the arts council)  The second two years I continued studying to become a teacher and worked at a photography lab and studio off campus.  In fall of 2007 I started my real teaching career and in summer of 2008 I started my photography business.  Its hard to believe that both of my dreams came true.  I have wanted to be a teacher since as early in elementary school that I can remember and I’ve wanted to be a photographer since my freshman year of high school.

In the last year I have shot 10 weddings (with 4 more booked for 2009),  9 engagement sessions, and a dozen other portraits.  I never expected to do so well.  The business just took off!  I have had so much fun starting my business and I can’t wait for it to continue growing!  Thanks to all of you who have trusted me to photograph these important events in your lives.  I couldn’t do it without you!  I also want to thank Stephanie Zuroff who helped by making my awesome website and blogsite and also answered any and every question I had!  You’ve been a great asset to Silverleaf Photography 🙂
Enjoy some (goofy) pictures of me shooting in a recent wedding.  These photos were taken by my dad.
You know you like those white legs…

Since then I’ve spent more time in the sun and my legs are more tan.

After seeing this I’m starting to be a lot more conscious of what my face looks like when I have a camera in front of it.

Zach and Chelsie’s Wedding

My cousin Chelsie got married a few weeks ago to a great guy named Zach.  It was a beautiful wedding and of course my cousin looked absolutely stunning.  This was my first wedding where I had assistants.  My dad and sister who also enjoy taking pictures helped me out.  Boy did it make things so much nicer!  Luckily my dad will be shooting with me for a couple more weddings this season.

My sister Jennifer focused on the detail shots (next two):

My dad focused on the groomsmen and was my second shooter for the day:

Mark and Donielle’s Wedding

Mark and Donielle were married at the beautiful Oak Hill Mansion in the afternoon. They had several kids in their wedding party. They were all so cute, I couldn’t get enough of them! 🙂

Thomas and Melissa’s Wedding

Thomas and Melissa are an amazing couple. Their wedding was probably the most heartfelt and emotional weddings I’ve been to. I cried and laughed all over again while editing the pictures. It was truly a pleasure to be part of your day. I hope you enjoy this sneak peak!

Smiles

In what other profession do you get smiled at this much?  I love my job 🙂  Stay tuned, I have a bridal shoot, three weddings and my first maternity shoot to post!

My engagement pictures!

Chad Franz did my engagement pictures a couple of weeks ago. It was so much fun being on the other end of the camera! I absolutely love these pictures and I can’t quit looking at them over and over again. What can I say, I’m obsessed with pictures!

You can view them on his blog here.  I’ll post more on my blog once I get the dvd.
