Sebastian’s 2nd Birthday party

So it turns out I just love planning birthday parties for my kid.  I love coming up with the perfect theme and scouring Pinterest months before his birthday. You can look back at Sebastian’s Circus themed party from last year.  This year I chose a construction theme since he loves trucks and all things with wheels.  This was a really easy theme to do because there were so many great ideas.

To start here are what the party invites looked like.  My friend Jess and I always trade invitations for a photography session.  Can’t wait to get her cute family in front of my camera again!

Sebastian’s Aunt Jennifer made him his cake again.  She did such a great job, it turned out better then I could have imagined.  Can’t wait to see what she does next year!

She also made the cupcakes.

Aunt Christie made the cookies.  These were a huge hit.  There was only one left after the party and Sebastian had that for breakfast the next morning thanks to Pop-pop spoiling him.

The food was ready and Sebastian and Aunt Christie waited for the guests to arrive.

Sebastian’s first couple guests arrived and we couldn’t keep him from tearing open the wrapping on one present.  He loves his truck he can take apart and put back together using a plastic drill.Sebastianis2party13

Once the guests started coming we gave them hard hats and put them to work.  Look at that little cutie on the right! He just started walking a few days before the party.

This little sweetheart was Sebastian’s Valentine.  They obviously have fun with each other.  I think that was cookie #1 for Sebastian.  I’m pretty sure he had about 3 and a piece of cake.

Sebastian started off the food with helping himself to a plate (and cookie #2).

Even though we’ve been working on it for weeks, he still didn’t quite understand how to blow out the candles.

He did try though. Sebastianis2party23

All he needed was a little help from his friends.Sebastianis2party24

This face shows it all, he definitely loved the cake.  It looked cute and tasted AMAZING!

I almost missed getting a photo of the inside of the cake!  How cool is that!?

Present time!  Sebastian was not shy and ripped right into the presents.Sebastianis2party27  Sebastianis2party28

After last year’s photo booth success, I decided that I wanted to do a themed photo booth every year.  Before the party started we got pictures of all of us with Sebastian in the booth and as guests were leaving, I grabbed them each for a quick photo.

We had to bribe Sebastian with chocolate rocks to get him to take photos with us.  That’s why it looks like he is eating something.

I’m trying so hard not to start planning his 3rd birthday party in my head because I do have an idea of what I want to do.  I’ll try to make myself wait until at least October to start planning it and by then, he may have his own idea of what he wants.

Yay! It looks so awesome! I’m so sorry we couldn’t make it. I didn’t expect the kids to sleep until 5:00. We will get together soon to give him his gift. Everything looks great and thank you so much for the shout out! 🙂
